Game Overview
Phelios is one of those Genesis shooters that grabs you right away—you're Apollo, zipping through the sky on a winged horse, firing arrows at giant monsters straight out of Greek myths. The first level throws a minotaur at you almost immediately, and from there it just keeps getting wilder. Hydras, gorgons, even a massive cyclops that takes up half the screen.
What I love is how colorful everything is—bright blues and golds everywhere, like someone painted an ancient vase and then made it move. The music’s got this dramatic, almost orchestral feel that makes every fight feel bigger than it should on a 16-bit system. And yeah, it’s tough, but in that good way where you can actually see yourself improving each run.
It never got as famous as some other shooters, but if you like fast action with a mythological twist, this one’s a blast. Just be ready to yell at your TV when a harpy sneaks up on you.
