Mario’s back chipping away at blocks, but these 10x10 grids will make you double-check every mark before the hidden pixel art finally snaps into view. Same satisfying puzzle itch, just a bit meaner with the early difficulty.

Game Overview

Picross 2 is that weird little Japan-only follow-up to Mario’s Picross on the Game Boy—same grid-based puzzle vibe, but with a slightly different feel. Mario’s back with his chisel, tapping away at blocks to reveal hidden pixel art, though this time the puzzles get a bit more devious early on. The first few are straightforward, but by the time you hit the 10x10 grids, you’ll catch yourself second-guessing your marks.

No major changes from the first game, just more puzzles and a slightly smoother difficulty curve. If you’ve played the original, you know the drill: numbers on the edges tell you how many blocks to chip away, and one wrong move costs you precious time. It’s still oddly satisfying when the image finally clicks into place—even if half the time it’s just a random object like a teapot or a shoe.

Definitely a niche pick, but if you’re into Picross, it’s a solid way to kill time on the go.
