Pitfall: The Lost Expedition on GBA is basically Indiana Jones meets Saturday morning cartoons—in the best way. You’re Harry, swinging vines over bottomless pits, whipping snakes, and occasionally facepalming when you misjudge a jump into quicksand. The controls feel tight for a GBA game, and the levels have this great mix of platforming and little environmental puzzles (like figuring out how to trigger ancient mechanisms without getting crushed).
It’s got that classic Pitfall energy but with way more personality—Harry actually talks now, and the villains are these weird, over-the-top stereotypes that somehow work. The graphics push the GBA hard, with pseudo-3D sections that surprisingly don’t feel clunky. My only gripe? Some of the later traps feel borderline unfair until you memorize the patterns. Still, if you’ve got a soft spot for adventure platformers, this one’s a blast with a surprisingly decent story for a handheld game.
