Pocket Battle is one of those Game Boy games that somehow makes tiny sprites feel like an entire army. You’ve got these little knights, archers, and mages shuffling across a grid, and at first glance it seems simple—until you realize the enemy just flanked your healer and now you’re scrambling to adjust. The battles are quick but surprisingly tense, like chess if every pawn had a personality.
I love how it doesn’t waste time—you pick your units, drop them on the map, and within minutes you’re either celebrating a clever win or cursing that one misclick that cost you the match. The pixel art has this weirdly charming vibe where everything looks cute but fights dirty. Found myself replaying stages just to try dumb strategies, like sending all my cavalry in first just to see what happens (spoiler: it rarely ends well).
