Pocket Dogs is one of those weirdly charming GBA games where you basically adopt a hyper-talkative digital pup. You pick from eight breeds—pugs are my favorite, obviously—and suddenly you're fielding deep questions like "What’s your favorite season?" from a pixel dog while tossing virtual frisbees at it.
The dogs have these janky little animations when they get excited, and they’ll ramble about their "dreams" (mostly involving treats). You can drag them on walks, redecorate their tiny doghouse with questionable furniture choices, and buy toys that they’ll immediately lose under the couch. It’s ridiculous, but also weirdly endearing after the third time your chihuahua asks about your life goals.
Fair warning: the dialogue loops fast, so you’ll hear "I LOVE PLAYING!" approximately 400 times per play session. Still, there’s something weirdly soothing about a game where your biggest responsibility is remembering your Shih Tzu prefers purple dog bowls.
