Poke Inu was a Japan only Game Boy Advance release, though I don't recall the developer's name. It came out during that later part of the GBA's life, a time when you'd find all sorts of quirky, experimental titles tucked away on the system. This one definitely fit that description, a strange little game about training a team of dogs.
You control a young trainer who explores a top down world, recruiting different breeds of dogs for your team. The main goal is to build a strong pack and compete in various tournaments. The signature mechanics involve teaching your dogs unusual skills, like having a corgi breathe fire or a shiba perform a suplex, and using those abilities outside of battle to dig for hidden items or snatch food from counters. The pacing is brisk, with short, screen by screen exploration leading into turn based battles against other trainers. It feels like managing a group of chaotic, lovable troublemakers who just happen to be surprisingly effective in a fight.
