Game Overview

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on PSP still holds up surprisingly well if you're into football sims that lean more toward realism than arcade flash. The first thing you'll notice is how much smoother dribbling feels compared to earlier versions—players actually respond to quick direction changes instead of sliding around like they're on ice. The AI makes smarter runs now, too, so through balls actually connect if you time them right.

Licensing's still a bit hit-or-miss (you'll see some hilarious fake team names), but the core gameplay nails that tense, tactical feel of a real match. Slide tackles have just the right amount of risk, and free kicks require proper finesse instead of being automatic goals. It's one of those PSP games that aged better than it had any right to.
