Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 on PSP still holds up surprisingly well for a handheld football game. The ball physics feel weightier than you'd expect—passes don’t just zip around unrealistically, and shots have this satisfying thud when you connect just right. Player movements are smoother than older versions, though you’ll notice the occasional stiff animation when someone tries an awkward turn.
What I like is how they’ve crammed in most of the big teams and leagues, even if some player names are slightly off (you know how PES used to be with licenses). The Champions League mode is a nice touch—it actually feels like a proper tournament, not just a reskinned exhibition match. First time I booted it up, I lost an hour just tweaking my custom formation before even kicking off.
It’s not perfect—the graphics show their age, and the commentary gets repetitive fast—but for quick matches on the go, it’s way more fun than it has any right to be. Just don’t expect FIFA-level polish.
