Game Overview
Project Battlefield_Disk1 came out for the Amiga in 1995, developed by Mirage Software. It was part of that wave of first-person shooters that tried to bring the Doom style to the platform, with the hardware limitations and creative workarounds that entailed. The game didn't aim for photorealism, but it had a certain gritty charm that fit right in with other Amiga action titles of the mid-90s.
You control a soldier dropped into a hostile industrial complex, fighting through terrorists and robots across five distinct levels. Your main goal is to navigate maze-like corridors, find keycards to unlock new areas, and activate teleporters to progress. Combat is straightforward; you shoot enemies while using objects like explosive barrels for tactical advantage or crates for cover. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, with an emphasis on exploration and resource management over pure run-and-gun chaos. It feels like a thoughtful, sometimes claustrophobic crawl through a dangerous place.
