Play Pulseman Online

You play as an electric guy who slides on power lines and zaps robots into scrap metal—the movement feels weighty, like Sonic if he could short-circuit enemies with a volt tackle. Those early neon city levels make you feel unstoppable right before the game kicks your ass.

Game Overview

Pulseman is this weird, awesome little Genesis game that feels like someone mashed up Sonic and Mega Man, then cranked the voltage. You play as this electric dude who basically surfs on power lines and zaps enemies with lightning attacks—way cooler than it sounds. The first level throws you right into neon cityscapes where you’re bouncing between rails and kicking robot goons into sparking piles of scrap.

There’s something satisfying about the way Pulseman controls—he’s got this weighty slide when you stop running, and his volt tackle move sends him careening through enemies like a human taser. The later levels get brutal (of course), but those first few stages nail that "just one more try" feeling. Also, the soundtrack slaps—all crunchy synth beats that sound like a Sega CD got struck by lightning.

It’s short (only seven stages), but each one’s packed with alternate paths and secrets. I still remember the first time I found the hidden warp zone behind a fake wall—pure 16-bit magic.
