Game Overview

QuackShot is one of those classic Genesis games that makes you realize Donald Duck was way cooler than Mickey. You start off digging through Scrooge’s study (because of course he has a treasure map just lying around) and suddenly you’re globetrotting with the nephews, bouncing between jungles, pyramids, and haunted castles. The whole thing feels like a Saturday morning cartoon—Donald even shoots plungers instead of bullets, which is somehow both ridiculous and perfect.

Pete’s gang chasing you adds just enough tension without being annoying, and the levels have this great mix of platforming and light puzzle-solving. The first time I played, I got stuck in the pyramid for way too long before realizing you could wall-jump. Classic 90s game design—no handholding, just figuring it out as you go. The music’s catchy too, especially that jungle theme.

It’s short but packed with personality, and way more fun than it has any right to be for a Disney tie-in. Still holds up.
