Quantox is one of those Amiga shooters that looks simple at first—just you in a boxy arena with enemies pouring in from all sides. But then you realize your shots ricochet off the walls, and suddenly you're calculating angles like a pool shark while dodging swarms of baddies. The real kicker? You can't just blast everything—you have to stun enemies first, then ram them before they shake it off and come back faster. Mess that up a few times, and you'll panic as the screen fills with hyper-aggressive blobs.
Between waves, you'll scavenge for power-ups (some help, some... don't) and occasionally hit a weird mini-game that earns you credits for upgrades. The shop's weapons make a difference, but good luck saving up enough before the later waves overwhelm you. It's the kind of game where you'll yell "That's BULL—" right before hitting continue.
Thirty-two waves sounds manageable until you realize the last few feel like the universe is personally mad at you.
