So, Rocket Power: Dream Scheme is this weird little GBA game where Otto has a nightmare about Merv Stimpleton turning into some mad scientist version of himself—complete with lab coat and evil plans. Next thing you know, Reggie, Twister, and Sam get kidnapped, and Otto has to skate, bike, and basically throw himself all over Ocean Shores to stop Merv from turning their hometown into… a polka resort? Yeah, it’s as bizarre as it sounds.
Gameplay’s a mix of side-scrolling action and mini-games—you’ll be doing everything from volleyball spikes to high-speed skate chases. The controls take a minute to get used to (why does jumping feel so floaty?), but once you get the rhythm, pulling off tricks feels pretty satisfying. Also, the pixel art nails that early 2000s Nickelodeon vibe, all bright colors and exaggerated animations.
It’s definitely a product of its time, but if you grew up with the show or just love janky licensed games with oddly specific villain schemes, this one’s a trip down memory lane. Just don’t expect deep storytelling—Merv’s polka obsession is never explained, and honestly, I’m okay with that.
