Remember Rocket Power? That early 2000s cartoon where kids did ridiculous extreme sports stunts like it was no big deal? This GBA game nails that energy—you’re basically Otto pulling off insane skate tricks, grinding rails like they’re made of butter, and wiping out spectacularly when you mistime a jump. The controls are simple (thankfully), but nailing combos without faceplanting takes some practice.
What surprised me was how much it feels like the show—bright colors, exaggerated animations, and those little cutscenes where the gang trash-talks each other. It’s all mini-games, really—racing, trick battles, obstacle courses—but they’re chaotic in the best way. Not gonna lie, the surfing level had me swearing at my GBA when I kept wiping out on the big waves.
If you’ve got nostalgia for the era of frosted tips and JNCO jeans, this one’s a weirdly fun time capsule. Just don’t expect a Tony Hawk clone.
