Rollerpede came out for the Amiga in 1992, developed by Digital Concepts and published by Players. It was one of those games that felt right at home on the platform, a straightforward arcade style shooter that didn't try to overcomplicate things. You got what you saw, and what you saw was a lot of bugs coming right at you.
You control a small gun at the bottom of the screen, moving it left and right to shoot upward at an endless centipede that winds its way down through a field of mushrooms. Your shots break the centipede into smaller, faster segments, and you also have to watch out for spiders that drop from above. The playfield gets more and more cluttered with obstacles as you play, raising the tension steadily. It feels frantic and precise, a constant test of your reflexes and aim under pressure.
