Rubicon_Disk1 on the Amiga is one of those games that doesn’t pull any punches. You’re dropped into a post-nuclear Russia where mutated animals have taken over, and your job is to shut down seven reactors before everything goes completely sideways. It’s brutal, fast, and doesn’t care if you’re ready or not.
The action plays out like Contra—screen flips, relentless enemies, and the occasional jetpack boost to keep things interesting. The weapon system’s a neat twist: instead of just grabbing power-ups, you’ve got to wrangle a floating canister to pick what you actually want. Good luck with that under fire.
Fair warning, though—this isn’t a game for the faint of heart. It’s up there with Project-X in terms of sheer difficulty, so expect to die a lot before you figure out the rhythm. But if you like your shooters punishing and packed with weird, tense moments, Rubicon’s worth the frustration.
