Game Overview

RVF Honda came out for the Amiga in 1989, published by U.S. Gold and developed by MicroProse. It was one of the early polygonal racing games on the platform, aiming for a more realistic feel than the sprite-based racers of the time. You could tell they were pushing the hardware to handle something that felt closer to simulation.

You control a rider on a Honda motorcycle, racing against eight AI opponents across eight different tracks. The main goal is to win races and progress through championships, from Clubman up to the World Championship. The game uses polygonal tracks that twist and dip realistically, and if you crash, your rider tumbles separately from the bike. You can adjust the number of laps per race and even play against a friend with null-modem support. The handling requires patience; it is easy to slide out on turns if you are not careful. Finishing a clean race without wiping out gives a real sense of accomplishment.
