Play Sanrio Carnival Online
Swap blocks to match three or more Sanrio characters, clear them from the screen, and keep the stack from reaching the top in this colorful puzzle game.
Sanrio Carnival came out for the Game Boy in 1990, published by Character Soft. It was one of those cheerful puzzle games that felt right at home on the handheld, a colorful distraction among the platformers and RPGs of the time. The game brought Hello Kitty, My Melody, and other Sanrio characters into a simple but engaging format, offering a lighthearted alternative to more intense titles.
You control a cursor to swap adjacent blocks, trying to line up three or more matching Sanrio faces to clear them from the screen. The main goal is to keep the stack from reaching the top, with new rows steadily pushing upward from the bottom. It plays at a steady, manageable pace early on, though the speed does pick up as you advance. There is a two player mode where you can compete against a friend, each trying to outlast the other while sending garbage rows their way. Playing it feels like organizing a friendly, slightly frantic party where everyone is a pastel-colored block.
