Game Overview
SD Valis (or Syd of Valis if you're playing the U.S. version) is one of those weird little chibi-style remakes of a darker, more serious game—in this case, Valis 2. The whole thing’s been shrunk down into super-deformed characters, but don’t let the cute look fool you. You’re still slashing through enemies with a sword, swapping between different weapons, and dealing with some surprisingly tough bosses at the end of each stage.
It’s short and a bit rough around the edges, but there’s something charming about how it condenses the original’s story into this bite-sized action romp. The music’s catchy, too—classic Genesis/Mega Drive synth. Just don’t expect it to be as deep as the mainline Valis games.
