Finally, a proper rally game for the GBA. Sega Rally Championship nails that arcade feel—you pick your favorite real-world rally car (I always went with the Subaru, obviously) and just go. The tracks are surprisingly varied—one minute you're sliding through snow, the next you're wrestling with muddy jungle turns. And yeah, you'll be wrestling—this isn't some sterile racing sim. The cars actually feel weighty, kicking up dirt and skidding just enough to keep things exciting.
Between races, you'll tweak your ride with upgrades and repairs (ignore the engine at your peril). Winning unlocks new cars and tracks, though honestly, I spent way too much time replaying the jungle course just to shave half a second off my time. Oh, and if you've got friends with GBAs and a link cable? The multiplayer turns into a hilarious mess of near-misses and last-second overtakes. Just don't blame me when someone yanks the cable after losing.
It's not perfect—the graphics are a little chunky by today's standards—but for handheld rally thrills, this still holds up better than it should.
