So Sengoku 3 is basically Neo Geo’s answer to "what if a beat 'em up played like a fighting game?" You’ve got light and heavy attacks, special moves with quarter-circle inputs, even a super meter for those flashy finishers. It’s way more technical than the first two games—no transforming into monsters mid-fight this time, but you can pick up random weapons like spears or guns to mix things up.
At first, I kept mashing buttons like it was a typical arcade brawler, but the combo system actually rewards timing and precision. Unlocking bosses as playable characters is a nice touch, though good luck beating them with the default roster. The sprite work’s gorgeous, too—every slash and fireball pops in that classic Neo Geo style.
Just don’t expect it to play like Sengoku 1 or 2—this one’s its own beast.
