Play Sengoku 3 / Sengoku Densho 2001 Online
Pick a fighter and slash through feudal Japan with slick combos—those chunky Neo Geo sprites make every punch and kick feel weighty. The ninja’s my favorite, but good luck nailing those air juggles without practice.

Sengoku 3 is one of those late-era arcade brawlers that somehow flew under the radar—probably because it came out in 2001, when everyone was already obsessed with 3D fighters. But if you dig classic side-scrolling beat 'em ups, this one’s a hidden gem. You pick from four characters (my go-to’s the ninja, obviously) and slash your way through feudal Japan with way more combos and special moves than you’d expect from an arcade cabinet.
The sprites are gorgeous—big, detailed, and full of that early 2000s Neo Geo flair. You’ll fight everything from samurai to demonic monsters, and the controls are tight enough that pulling off a 10-hit air combo actually feels satisfying instead of random button-mashing. It’s got that perfect balance of being easy to pick up but tough to master, especially when you hit the later levels and the game stops holding back.
Definitely worth a play if you miss when arcade games were all about flashy, over-the-top action.
