Konami released Crime Fighters 2 in the arcades in 1991, a time when side scrolling beat 'em ups were everywhere. It was the sequel to their earlier game, and it followed the familiar formula of moving right and clearing out enemies, but it had a few quirks that made it stand out in a crowded genre.

You control one of four vigilantes, each with their own fighting style, and your goal is to fight through city streets and industrial areas to rescue a kidnapped woman. The game is known for its cooperative grappling moves; you and a partner can grab the same enemy and deliver a brutal double team attack. Enemies are aggressive and come in large numbers, often swarming from both sides of the screen, which keeps the pressure high. It feels chaotic and demanding, a real test of coordination and reflexes when the screen fills up with thugs.
