Play The King of Fighters '95 Online
Rugal's back from the dead running the tournament again, and now you're mixing wild teams—Kyo vs. Iori sparks fly while you figure out if three brawlers or one glass cannon works better. Game Boy chugs a bit, but the roster's full of attitude.

So The King of Fighters '95 on Game Boy is where things really started shaping up for the series. It picks up right after the first tournament—turns out Rugal Bernstein, that smug final boss from last year, somehow clawed his way back from the dead to run the whole thing again. Classic villain move.
This is the game that introduced Iori Yagami, Kyo’s fiery (literally) rival, and honestly, their feud becomes the backbone of the whole franchise. Gameplay-wise, it’s still the same fast, team-based fights as before, but now you can mix and match fighters however you want. First time I played, I spent way too long just tinkering with team combos—do you go all-aggressive or balance it out? Either way, the roster’s packed with weirdos and badasses, so you’ll find someone to main.
It’s rough around the edges by today’s standards, but if you’ve ever wondered where KOF’s personality really kicked in, this is it.
