Bakunetsu Dodge Ball Fighters came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2000, developed by KID and published by Atlus. It was part of that early GBA wave where developers were still figuring out how to make the most of the hardware, but it stood out for its sheer speed and over-the-top take on a familiar sport.
You control a team of dodgeball players, each with unique abilities, and face off against opponents in fast-paced matches. The main goal is to eliminate the other team by hitting them with the ball, but things escalate quickly with special moves like fireballs and ice shots that freeze players in place. Matches are frantic, with characters zipping around the court, performing mid-air dodges, and unleashing super moves that fill the screen with flashy effects. It feels chaotic and satisfying, like playing an action game disguised as a sports title.
