Game Overview
VS. Super Mario Bros is basically the arcade version of the NES classic, but don't let the familiar look fool you—Nintendo cranked up the difficulty to make sure you kept feeding quarters into the machine. Same Mushroom Kingdom, but now you're dealing with tougher enemies right from World 1-1, and some levels got swapped out for their sadistic cousins from The Lost Levels.
They also tweaked the little things: fewer power-ups, stricter warp pipes, and a coin counter that taunts you with its extra digit. It's still Mario, but it feels like the game's subtly messing with you—in that fun, arcade-y way where you know the machine wants your money but you can't help playing just one more time.
