I first played Shadoworlds on the Amiga back in 1992, a release from Krisalis Software. It was a time when many developers were experimenting with blending genres, and this one stood out for its moody, sci-fi take on the dungeon crawler. It didn't have the flash of some other titles, but it had a quiet, deliberate presence that pulled you in.

You control a team of four explorers, moving them in real time through the eerie corridors of an abandoned space station. Your main goal is to uncover what happened there, which involves solving environmental puzzles and fighting off hostile creatures. The game uses a simplified stat system, so you spend less time managing numbers and more on tactical movement and managing your light sources; you have to use flares or torches to see in the dark, which adds constant tension. The pacing is slow, methodical, and quite difficult, with enemies that can overwhelm you if you're careless. Playing it feels like cautiously piecing together a mystery in a place that wants you gone.
