Shaman King: Master of Spirits came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by Konami. It was part of that wave of action platformers that really defined the handheld, sitting alongside a lot of Metroid and Castlevania-inspired titles. You don't see many licensed games that try to be this ambitious.

You control Yoh Asakura, moving through interconnected areas, fighting enemies with your sword, and using guardian spirits for special attacks. The main goal is to explore these large, screen-by-screen dungeons, defeat bosses, and collect Spirit Orbs to progress. The combat is straightforward, but timing your spirit summons for extra damage or to solve puzzles is key. The pacing is methodical, and some later sections get quite difficult, demanding precise jumps and smart spirit use. It feels like a solid, challenging adventure that makes you think about how and when to use your abilities.
