Shrek: Super Slam came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2005, published by Activision. It was one of those many licensed games that filled the shelves back then, a straightforward brawler trying to cash in on the movie's popularity. You didn't expect much from it, but it had a certain charm just by being there.
You pick a character from the Shrek universe, like Shrek himself or Donkey, and then you just fight in small, closed-off arenas. The main goal is to knock your opponent around and build up a special meter; once it's full, you can unleash a super move to really send them flying. The mechanics are simple, mostly built on basic attacks, throwing objects like barrels or chickens, and trying to position yourself to land a big hit. The pacing is fast, matches are over quickly, and the difficulty isn't too punishing. It feels silly and immediate, a perfect distraction for a short bus ride.
