Game Overview

Shuffle Pix came out for the Amiga in 1990, developed by Magic Soft. It was one of those straightforward puzzle games that felt right at home on the platform, offering a clean, colorful distraction without the bloat or pretense of some bigger releases. You slid tiles around a grid, trying to reassemble a scrambled picture, and it had a quiet, focused charm that made it easy to pick up and hard to put down.

You control the cursor to swap adjacent tiles on a 5x5 grid, working to match a small preview of the target image in the corner. The main objective is to complete the picture with as few moves as possible. Signature mechanics include three distinct modes: picture completion, which uses actual images; color puzzles, which rely on gradients and blocks of color; and a training mode for practice. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty ramps up gently as the images become more complex. It feels satisfying to finally nudge that last piece into place and watch the picture snap together.
