Shura no Mon is one of those hidden gems that never made it out of Japan, which is a shame because it’s a solid strategy RPG with a martial arts twist. You play as a wandering fighter climbing his way through ranks of rival dojos, and the combat’s got this cool mix of turn-based tactics and one-on-one duels—like Fire Emblem meets Street Fighter, sort of.
The sprites are chunky in that classic Mega Drive way, and the soundtrack’s got some surprisingly hype battle themes. Early on, you’re mostly picking moves from a menu and hoping your timing’s right, but once you unlock more techniques, fights start feeling way more dynamic. Just don’t expect an English patch—this one’s all in Japanese, though menus are simple enough to fumble through.
