Play Sigma Star Saga (U)(Trashman) Online
You creep through alien bases like a spy, then suddenly you're dodging bullets in a slick spaceship—weird mix, but it clicks. Tinkering with your ship's guns between missions feels just right.

Sigma Star Saga came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by WayForward and published by Namco. It arrived late in the GBA's life, a time when developers were still finding clever ways to stretch the hardware. The game blends two distinct genres, something not many titles attempted on the platform.
You control Ian Recker, an Earth soldier who infiltrates an alien fleet. The gameplay splits between exploring alien installations on foot and piloting your ship in top-down shooter segments. On foot, you move screen by screen, talking to characters, solving environmental puzzles, and engaging in combat with a blaster. The shooter sections are fast and demanding, filled with enemy patterns to memorize. A key feature is the Gun Data system; you collect and customize different weapon programs for your ship between missions, which adds a layer of strategy. The pacing shifts abruptly between these modes, keeping you alert. It feels inventive and surprisingly cohesive once you adjust to its rhythm.
