Sky Dancers on GBA is one of those early 2000s licensed games that feels like it was made in a hurry. You pick between three characters—Angelica, Camille, or Jade—and fly through short, repetitive levels to rescue Queen Skyla. The controls are floaty, like your character is half underwater, and the hit detection is rough when dodging obstacles.
The mini-games break up the main levels, but they're just as shallow. Angelica's archery feels stiff, Jade's slalom is more frustrating than fun, and Camille's treasure hunt is basically just memory matching. The fairy crystals add a tiny bit of strategy, but mostly it's just mashing buttons to get through.
Sky Dancers isn't terrible, but it's clearly aimed at younger fans of the toy line. The sprite work is colorful, at least, even if the gameplay doesn't hold up.
