Smus came out for the Amiga in 1987, a time when the platform was starting to show what it could really do. It was developed by a small team, and it fit right in with the kind of fast, arcade-style games people were playing back then. You didn't hear a lot about it, but if you found a copy, it had its own particular charm.
You control a small, quick character moving through tight, maze-like stages, avoiding enemies and grabbing power-ups that give you temporary speed or invincibility. The goal is simple: get through each screen, survive the increasing number of hazards, and see how far you can go. The game moves fast, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, keeping you on your toes. It feels frantic but satisfying when you slip past a crowd of enemies and grab just the right item to push forward.
