Sorcer Kingdom came out for the Sega Genesis in 1993, developed by Nippon Computer Systems and published by Renovation. You control the dark sorcerer Zodia, building an undead army to crush the forces of light. The main goal is to conquer the entire kingdom by strategically placing units like skeletons in swamps for defense or summoning vampires to ambush enemy troops. Movement and combat happen on a grid-based overworld, with resource management and timed spellcasting playing key roles. The pacing is deliberate, almost chess-like, and the difficulty is unapologetic; mistakes cost you dearly. Playing it feels like carefully orchestrating a slow, grim takeover where every decision carries weight.
