Spider-Man - The Movie on GBA is one of those licensed games that actually gets the swinging right. The first thing you notice is how weightless Spidey feels when he's airborne, like the game wants you to mess around with the physics before getting serious.
It's got that early 2000s beat-em-up energy, where you're mostly punching thugs on rooftops between short web-slinging sections. The city isn't huge, but moving between buildings has this satisfying rhythm once you get the timing down.
Some of the platforming can be janky, though. There were times I overshot a jump or got stuck on geometry, which gets old when you're chasing a villain through a timed mission. Still, for a movie tie-in, it's better than most.
If you're into that era of handheld games, Spider-Man - The Movie holds up okay as a quick, mindless brawler with decent web mechanics.
