If you've ever wanted to mess around in Bikini Bottom like it's 2003 again, this GBA cart is basically a time machine. You flip Krabby Patties until Mr. Krabs loses his mind, chase jellyfish with that lovable doofus Patrick, and somehow Plankton's evil plans are even funnier when you're the one button-mashing to stop him. The pixel art somehow nails SpongeBob's weird facial expressions—like when he does that thing where his whole body deflates.
It's not gonna blow your mind with deep gameplay, but that's kinda the point. You're here to chuck snowballs at Squidward's house or fail spectacularly at driving Mrs. Puff's boat, just like the show. My left thumb still remembers the blisters from trying to beat the jellyfish levels as a kid. The whole thing feels like someone stuffed three episodes and a bag of gummy worms into your Game Boy.
Perfect for when you want something stupidly cheerful that doesn't take itself seriously. Also works as a bargaining chip when your little cousin won't stop stealing your DS.
