Spy Muppets: License to Croak came out in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance, developed by Vicarious Visions. It was part of that wave of licensed games that tried to capture the spirit of the source material, in this case the Muppets, while fitting into the handheld's library of action platformers. The game didn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it offered a solid, silly experience for fans.
You control Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Fozzie Bear across various missions, each with their own abilities. Kermit sneaks through vents and uses stealth, Miss Piggy employs her karate chops to defeat enemies directly, and Fozzie distracts guards with his terrible jokes. The main goal is to stop the villainous Dr. No-Frog, progressing through screen by screen levels filled with guards, traps, and collectible items like film reels. The pacing is brisk, though some platforming sections can feel a bit imprecise. It feels like a playful, slightly chaotic cartoon adventure brought to life.
