Play Squirrel King Online
Command a squirrel army through chaotic obstacle courses—whistle to steer them past spikes, build bridges, and outsmart owls trying to snatch your acorns. Messy, frantic, and weirdly satisfying once you get the hang of it.

Squirrel King came out in 1995 for the Sega Genesis, developed by Sachen. It was one of those lesser-known titles that slipped onto the system late in its life, a time when players were already looking ahead to newer consoles. It didn't get much attention then, and it's still a pretty obscure game today.
You control a squirrel king leading a long, single-file line of smaller squirrels. Your goal is to guide the entire group safely through each stage, which is filled with hazards like spikes, pits, and enemy owls. The main mechanics involve whistling to command your squirrels to stop or follow, and you often need to use their bodies to form bridges or ladders to cross gaps. The pacing is tense and deliberate; one wrong move can cost you several followers, and losing them all means starting the stage over. It feels like a strange, careful puzzle where you're constantly managing a fragile, squirmy chain of lives.
