Play Star Sweep Online
You sweep blocks in smooth arcs instead of dropping them, trying to match colors before the grid fills up—mess up the timing at first, but once it clicks, the rhythm feels great. Those neon constellation blocks burst like supernovas when you clear a big chain.

Star Sweep was a puzzle game released for the Game Boy in 1997, developed by Taito. It arrived during a period when the handheld was saturated with puzzle titles, offering a different take on the block-clearing formula without the bombast of some of its contemporaries.
You control a cursor that sweeps across the playfield to connect blocks of the same color, clearing them before new rows push up from the bottom. The main objective is to prevent the screen from filling by creating large chains; signature mechanics include the sweeping motion itself, which requires careful timing and foresight, and the cascading explosions that follow a successful clear. The pacing is deliberate but tense, with the difficulty ramping up steadily as you advance. It feels satisfying to pull off a long, planned chain and watch the screen momentarily empty.
