Axel and Blaze return, joined by Skate and the weirdly fun Dr. Zan, who turns every weapon into glowing energy balls (seriously, watching him chuck pipes like they’re made of lightning never gets old).
The special move system got an upgrade—now you’ve got a power bar that only drains if it’s full, so you can actually use your flashy attacks without instantly losing half your health. Weapons feel more unique too: Skate flips knives like a maniac but just swings a pipe normally, while Axel does this brutal spinning strike with pipes but barely knows what to do with a blade. Little details like that make picking up random junk off the ground way more interesting.
Oh, and there are secret characters hidden in the game if you know where to look—plus multiple endings depending on how things play out. It’s still the same Streets of Rage at heart, just with more reasons to punch your way through it again.
