Play Strider Hiryuu Online
You flip through neon-lit streets slashing mechs with a crackling plasma sword, bouncing off walls like gravity’s just a suggestion. That first snow level with the Soviet towers? Pure Genesis magic.
Strider Hiryuu came out on the Sega Genesis in 1990, developed by Capcom. It was one of those games that felt like it was pushing the hardware, with big, detailed sprites and a sense of speed that not many other titles on the system could match at the time. The setting was a mix of high-tech and strange, futuristic locations that gave it a distinct look.
You control Hiryū, a ninja with a plasma sword called the Cypher, and your goal is to take down the evil Grandmaster Meio. The gameplay is built on fast, side-scrolling action where you slash through robots and soldiers, climb walls, and use a robotic panther to reach higher platforms. The levels are large and require some exploration, often looping back on themselves, and the difficulty is pretty relentless, demanding quick reflexes. It feels like a constant, high-energy rush from start to finish.
