Konami released Sunset Riders for the Sega Genesis in 1992, a time when arcade-style action games were common on home consoles. It was a direct port of the company's own arcade cabinet, bringing its frantic, cartoonish take on the Wild West to a home audience without much fuss or pretense.
You choose one of four bounty hunters, each with slightly different firing styles, and move screen by screen through western landscapes. Your goal is simple: shoot every enemy in your path, collect gold bags and power-ups for better weapons, and defeat screen-filling bosses at the end of each stage. The game is fast and often unforgiving, with bullets coming from all directions and limited continues to test your reflexes. It feels like a pure, chaotic shootout from start to finish.
