Play Super Airwolf Online
You wrestle with the chopper's clunky controls at first, dodging bullets while rescuing motionless agents—then suddenly it clicks, and you're weaving through canyons blasting everything in sight. Pure '90s chaos.

Super Airwolf came out for the Sega Genesis in 1991, developed by Kyugo. It was one of those many shoot 'em ups that filled the shelves back then, based on the older TV show but mostly just another helicopter game trying to grab your attention. It didn't really stand out much from the crowd, but it had its own particular rhythm once you got into it.
You pilot the Airwolf helicopter through a series of side-scrolling and overhead stages, shooting down enemy jets, tanks, and turrets. The main goal is to survive each stage, rescue POWs when they appear, and eventually take down a boss. Key mechanics include switching between three different weapon types (standard shot, wide shot, and missiles) and managing a limited supply of special bombs for clearing the screen. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty spikes sharply, especially during later levels where enemy fire becomes overwhelming. It feels like a constant scramble for survival, demanding quick reflexes and a good memory for attack patterns.
