You control the ninja Joe Musashi, moving through stages screen by screen, using a mix of sword slashes and shuriken throws to take down enemies. The main goal is to rescue hostages from each level, often tucked away in hidden areas or guarded by mini bosses. Two signature mechanics are the ability to perform a double jump for better platforming control and using ninja magic, which consumes magic points but can clear the screen or deal heavy damage. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding precise jumps and quick reflexes.
