Play Suspect Online
1984 adventure game for Amiga. Play as a reporter framed for murder. Gather evidence, avoid the killer, and solve the mystery before time runs out.
Suspect came out in 1984 for the Amiga, published by Infocom, Inc. and developed by Asgard Software. It was one of the early text adventures on the platform, relying on typed commands and a parser to navigate its world. The game stood out for its setting; you weren't exploring a fantasy dungeon but a modern mansion after a murder.
You control a reporter who has been framed for the crime. Your goal is to find the real killer by gathering evidence, questioning guests, and avoiding the actual murderer who is still in the house. The game uses a real time clock, so you must work quickly before the police arrive or the killer finds you. Signature mechanics include careful inventory management, since you can only carry a few items, and paying close attention to dialogue clues from other characters. The pacing is tense, and the difficulty comes from the time pressure and the need to think several steps ahead. It feels like a race against an unseen clock, where every wrong move could end the game.
