Tale Spin for the Game Boy came out in 1991, developed and published by Capcom. It was part of that wave of licensed games on the system, where you got to step into the world of a cartoon, in this case the animated series of the same name. The hardware limitations meant things were simple and straightforward, but it had its own charm.
You control Baloo in his plane, the Sea Duck, navigating side-scrolling shooter levels. Your main goal is to complete missions by flying from one end of the stage to the other, shooting down enemy planes and avoiding obstacles like cliffs and weather hazards. You collect fuel cans to keep flying and grab power-ups to improve your weapons. The game moves at a brisk pace, and it can get difficult quickly with all the projectiles and narrow gaps to maneuver through. It feels like a challenging, condensed arcade experience in your hands.
