Talmit's Adventure came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, published by Namco. It was part of that wave of early 90s platformers that tried to stand out with a unique visual style and some unconventional mechanics. You control a small prince who explores a series of colorful, carnival-themed islands. Your main goal is to rescue a kidnapped princess by navigating through numerous side-scrolling stages. The gameplay involves a lot of bouncing; you slide down rainbows, get launched into the air by springs, and use enemies as platforms to reach higher areas. The jumping physics feel floaty and take some getting used to, but landing a precise bounce combo off an enemy is surprisingly satisfying. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving with instant death hazards like spiked flowers. Playing it feels like navigating a whimsical but slightly unpredictable dream.
