I picked up The Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree on Game Boy Advance back in 2005. It was published by Nova Development, one of those many licensed titles that filled the shelves during the handheld's heyday. It doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, just offers a straightforward adventure based on the classic children's book.
You control the three bear cubs, switching between them to use their unique abilities; the small one fits through narrow passages, the medium one pushes heavy boxes, and the tall one reaches high-up switches. The goal is to navigate the spooky tree's many rooms, solving simple environmental puzzles to progress deeper. You'll be jumping over bottomless pits, avoiding swooping bats and grumpy owls, and collecting items like pinecones to throw at obstacles. The game is methodical, not fast, and the penalty for losing all your courage (health) is starting the entire tree over from the beginning. It feels like a cautious, thoughtful trek through a familiar but slightly dangerous place.
