Play The Little Mermaid - Magic in Two Kingdoms (U)(Rising Sun) Online
Swim as Ariel, flipping between ocean and land—toss magic bubbles to solve puzzles, dodge jellyfish, and get weirdly stuck on shells you forgot you could push. The pixel water still looks great.

I picked up The Little Mermaid: Magic in Two Kingdoms on Game Boy Advance back in 2006, a Disney Interactive release that came out when the handheld was still pretty active. It's a side-scrolling adventure that lets you play as Ariel, moving between her underwater world and the human kingdom above, which was a neat concept for a platformer at the time.
You control Ariel through a series of levels, switching between her mermaid and human forms to overcome different obstacles. The main goal is to stop the sea witch Ursula from causing chaos in both realms. You use magic bubbles to attack enemies and interact with objects, swim through tight caverns avoiding hazards like jellyfish, and solve environmental puzzles, often by pushing shells or activating switches. The pacing is fairly relaxed, though some sections can trip you up with awkward platforming or unclear objectives. It feels simple and charming, like a breezy afternoon dive with just enough challenge to keep you engaged.
